Rescue skill (aka Self-Rescue, Partner Rescue, Improvised Rescue, Small Teams Rescue)

The goal is to have the skill to get your climbing partner efficiently to the top or to the bottom of a climb even if your partner is are severely injured and can not assist in any way. The component skills to accomplish this goal are pretty straightforward. What makes rescue in the field difficult is to figure out under stress what combination of skill to apply to get the job done efficiently. The component skills are listed below.

Ascending a slack rope with a GriGri, a Micro Traxion, and a sling / cord

Ascending a slack rope with a Micro Traxion, a friction hitch, and a sling / cord

Ascending a slack rope with a friction hitch, and a cord / sling  

Ascending a tension rope with a friction hitch and a cord
