Non Government Search and Rescue

Sometime the search and rescue related activities fall outside of the scope/mandate/risk-management/etc. of government SAR teams. For example, rescuing unaccompanied lost, stranded or injured animals can sometimes fall outside of the purview of government SAR teams.

Dog Search and Rescue

To Joe, dogs are family. He volunteers for dog search and rescue operations and approaches these rescues the same as if a human is in need. These operations can last for multi-days, involve a large number of resources (community volunteers, drones, hounds, live traps, trail camera, etc.) and skills (rope access skills, mountaineering and climbing skills, tracking skills, thermal drone operation, etc.). Some operations have involved rescuing dogs stranded on cliffs and in deep canyons in remote rough conditions. If you have lost your dog in the backcountry or your dog is stuck somewhere, contact Joe.

Special Circumstances Seach and Rescue

Joe has the skills and equipment (custom 4×4 vehicles, backcountry snowmobiles, rafts, dirt bike, technical ropes access gear, rock and ice climbing gear, mountaineering gear, etc.) to access almost any location and in almost any condition. In unusual circumstances where government SAR teams are unavailable (e.g., rescue helicopters can not fly due to poor weather, operational risk exceeds what is acceptable for large scale SAR team, etc.), it is possible that Joe and others with particular skills, resourcefulness, and experience can still operate effectively in there personal capacity (i.e., not as a member of a named SAR team). Contact Joe if you are in need of such assistance.
