Years ago I came across the following discussion of satori and it stuck with me.
“Satori occurs when attention rest in the present moment, when the body is alert, sensitive, relaxed, and the emotions are open and free…Satori is the warrior’s state of being…Sports, dance, or music, and any other challenging activity can serve as a gateway to satori…a way to focus the mind and free the emotions as you train the body. But most athletes fail to expand this clarity into daily life. This is your task.”
