Castleton Tower (aka Castle Rock) is an iconic desert tower located about 45 mins from Moab. It’s a must do if you’re up to the challenge, a classic by all measures. The tower is about 400 feet tall (4 pitches) and the approach trail is steep and strenuous. The approach takes about an hour. The easiest routes on the tower (North Chimney and Kor-Ingalls) are rated 5.9. It’s a full day adventure climb. One of my all time favorites. If you’re up for something even more difficult we could climb Fine Jade 5.11 or the North Face 5.11. Both are great routes.
If you climb the route unguided, here some Castleton Tower Self-Rescue / Rescue information that you might find helpful.
